Job Description

The Electrical, Automation & Industrial IT section within the Life Science business area is now seeking a Technical Project Manager in Automation who wants to lead and drive automation projects in a high-tech and GMP-regulated production environment. The role combines deep technical understanding of both PLC and DCS systems with the ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver projects on time, within budget, and with the highest quality. Travel may occur.

Your Responsibilities

As a Technical Project Manager in Automation, you will:

  • Lead automation projects from feasibility study and design to commissioning, validation, and handover to the operations organization.
  • Coordinate resources, timelines, and budgets in close collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Ensure technical solutions within both PLC and DCS environments, including integration with SCADA, MES, and other production systems.
  • Drive improvement initiatives and implement new technology to optimize production and maintenance.
  • Ensure that all solutions meet GMP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Act as support for automation engineers in the team.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A technical degree at the university level in automation, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in automation, with at least 2 years in a leading role within the process industry.
  • Experience leading projects in regulated industries and knowledge of GMP.
  • Good skills in Swedish and English (spoken & written).

Meritorious:

  • Knowledge of validation work (IQ/OQ/PQ) and change control (CC) in a GMP environment.
  • Experience with integration between automation systems and higher-level IT systems.
  • Experience in Life Science, pharmaceuticals, food, healthcare, energy, or other regulated industries.
